Why did the milk bottle system fail?

• Availability of milk at supermarket - easier to just grab milk with other shopping and not have to pay a seperate bill/set up with a different system
• Because milk was now in supermarkets there was not enough customers - Not enough customers = not enough income to pay for all expenses
• Customers didn't always remember to put empty bottles at gate (If we do a system like this - what happens to the cat meat sitting on doorsteps if people are not home until the end of the day?)
• Cheaper at the supermarket as they move stock in bulk so why would people buy it for more off of us for not that great of a convenience
