Visit to Pet Stores + SPCA
Sarah, Wairata and Ashley visited 2 pet stores in the Wellington area - Animates, 15 Mahora St, Kilbirnie and The Pet Centre 117 Tirangi Road, Rongotai - and the SPCA.
We talked to the businesses (see other post), and took photos of existing things in the market.

What toys exist for pets and what needs they meet - labelled in store.

Biodegradable poop bags - lots of options! (more than pictured here)

Natural, eco friendly dog soaps

Self serve dog treats. Eco friendly pet food bowl and can cover (although you're not meant to keep food in cans after you open it).

Eco friendly pet toys - mostly for dogs, a few for cats as well as birds and small animals.
The prices aren't much different from those of non eco conscious brands.

At the SPCA a lot of their toys were handmade out of waste. Toys can be very expensive so they run toy making workshops with children . We didn't see the cats playing with them all that much, but the puppy's loved them! I've seen kittens playing with them before as well.
They also sold some handmade (knitted for example) toys and coats.
Follow is the most important photo of our trip:
