Local (Wellington) Pet Communities

Researching pet communities in Wellington as potential sources for information on small pets behaviour and preferences surrounding toys.

Organisations:

SPCA Wellington-
Definitely important for us to get in touch with, they care for small animals so will most likely have info about their toy and accessory preferences. They have a following of 19,614 people on Facebook, so if we could get them to share any surveys or questions of ours it may increase response numbers.

HUHA-
"Helping you help animals." Predominantly focused on dogs, but they help all animals including cats and sometimes smaller. They may have knowledge on what accessories are suitable and enjoyable for cats and possibly other small animals.

Cats Protection League Wellington-
Lots of people who are very, very passionate about cats are part of this. They may have good information on the best toys and accessories for cats.

The Kitten Inn-
People who are passionate about rehoming and rehabilitating cats. Could be a helpful source of knowledge about cats toy and accessory preferences.

Wellington Rabbit Rescue-
Very passionate about rehoming and rehabilitating rabbits, they may be a good source of information about what accessories and toys are useful and enjoyable to them. They also help guinea pigs, so they may have some information about them.

Facebook Groups:

Cats of Wellington- 3556 members.
Local, active, could be a good place to put surveys or pose questions to wellington cat owners. The members of this group could be our potential customers.

This is the largest Facebook community for rat and mouse owners in New Zealand, so the members may have valuable knowledge on what toys and accessories mice and rats enjoy. They may also be our potential customers.
