While at the SPCA we asked an employee from the Feline and Small animals team if there were any issues in the pet industry that they could highlight for us. He asked us to email him so he could think on it. Email sent to felineteam@wellingtonspca.org.nz:

"Hi there,

We're a group of fourth year design student at Massey University. Our group is interested in solving an issue related to cats/small animals and environmental issues. We were wondering if there are any issues the SPCA has that fit in with this?

Note: we never heard back, but as we've pivoted it's not a massive issue.
